Indian Head Massage works with rhythmic movements to release tension and stress from the muscles The treatment will also work on an emotional level, calming the mind, promoting relaxation and relieving stress.

Following a deeply calming and hypnotic breathing experience, the massage begins with the upper back, where a combination of deep massage and pressure points help to relax the muscles and to melt away tight spots.  The shoulders and upper arms are then massaged, enabling the muscles to stretch and relax as tightness and tension is melted away.   Following this, the neck is worked on with deep massage to gently release tension.    Headaches, tiredness and tension just dissolve away.   Moving up to the scalp, techniques are used that stimulate, relax and revive the whole of the head, increasing circulation and promoting healthy hair. Finally the treatment will include a gentle energy balance of the upper Chakras, to ensure your sense of calm wellbeing stays with you.

Once completed, you will have time to just be in the moment, sitting quietly to absorb the feelings of calmness and wellbeing.
The treatment is given using oils or cream, while you are in a comfortable seated position with a towel around you for comfort.

An initial consultation will be completed at your first session.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a deeply revitalizing therapy that involves a calming combination of massage and reflex point pressure to your feet or hands. The principle of reflexology is that that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all parts of the body.

By applying pressure to specific reflex areas found in the feet or hands, the nerve pathways to the brain from each area of the body will be stimulated to bring fresh oxygen and nutrients to the area. This will encourage the body to function efficiently and release any harmful toxins which have built up in the body over time, therefore enabling the body to repair itself, responding more efficiently to stress or illness. Reflexology brings about a state of homeostasis or balance to body, while at the same time calming the mind.

How is the Treatment carried out?

Following an initial consultation at your first visit, you will be able to relax on a reclining chair for treatment, with your feet comfortably resting on a soft pillow.  Once your feet have been cleansed by the therapist, she will look at your feet to ensure there are no areas of tenderness that would benefit from lighter pressure.  The foot not being worked on will be covered with a towel.

Beginning with your right foot, oil or cream is applied using deeply relaxing massage movements, before the treatment begins with gentle, rhythmic pressure to specific points, or reflexes.  Often the therapist can detect imbalances in parts of the body that have not yet manifested, and she can unblock those imbalances during treatment, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized.

If for any reason, you are unable to have the treatment performed on your feet, hand reflexology will be offered to you.  For hand reflexology, your arm and hand will rest comfortably on a pillow covered by a towel, and the therapist will be seated to the side of your recliner chair.

Reflexology may help alleviate:
