Before going into the social setting, close your eyes, and imagine a large oval mirror. In the mirror you can see yourself, walking into the venue, looking absolutely calm, confident and smiling. You can see others’ admiring glances, as your confidence shines, making you feel taller, head held high. You feel cool and comfortable, and you know, without a doubt, that if at any time you feel a blush coming on, you can simply send a message to your mind to surround your face with cool air, almost like an invisible fan. Then imagine stepping into the mirror, into the new confident you – and notice how comfortable it is.

You may want to rehearse this a few times in the 24 hours before you go to the venue – whatever you tell your mind you want, it will find for you, so use this powerful technique to help you to enjoy social situations as you relax in the knowledge that you can choose to be confident, calm and cool as a cucumber!
